I just posted a blog alllll about the OK Go concert on my blogspot.  The link is somewhere in my buzznet profile.  So all you fellow OK Go fans should go read that.

That was to all you insane people who think "Plays Pretty for Baby" is a Saosin song.  Because it's definitely Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer.  So stop telling me I'm wrong.

I get quite annoyed when people ask me to do something that I A) would NEVER do, B) upsets me when other people do it and is C) ILLEGAL nonetheless.  But really, that's not the part that annoys me.  The part that annoys me is when everyone realizes I get upset and say "Ohhhh well we weren't going to do it anyway!!" or "Please don't be mad!!" or something like that.

I also get annoyed when someone gives you chocolate without a label on it.  Fucking hazelnuts.  You could KILL me.

It's also annoying when people who can't sing think they're the best singer in the world.

It's also annoying when people tell me that my generation is corrupt.

It's also annoying when people yell a whole conversation to someone standing right next to them.

It's also annoying when you feel like shit, but have to pretend you're fine so people won't think your mad at them.

It's also annoying when your dad has been in Iraq for almost a year, and they make him stay four or five more months.

But at least I'm not a starving child in Africa, or a sick baby polar bear without a mom.

Well, I'm just mad.  And I'm sorry if you read this whole thing and wasted a minute of your life.

Because they're mainstream?

The Beatles had uniforms.  (Think Sgt. Pepper) I've never heard anyone call them "posers".

Oh my God.  They're successful.  Big deal.

"I listened to them when no one knew about them, but then they got famous..."

So you don't want your favorite band to be successful?  You'd rather have them broke, starving and living in a van?

God, SHUT UP.  Just because all of your "cool", "non-conformist", ARROGANT, "punk" friends don't like a band, doesn't mean YOU CAN'T LIKE THEM.  Just because thirteen year old girls wearing black eyeliner listen to a band, does not mean you can't listen to it either.  If a band has SO MANY fans, there has GOT to be SOMETHING good about them.  If a band is THAT POPULAR, then they obviously can't suck THAT MUCH.  But OH NO.  You MUST look "cool" in front of people (whether you think so or not) you're trying to impress.  BASING YOUR MUSIC CHOICES ON SOMEONE ELSE'S IDEA OF WHAT "GOOD" MUSIC IS... PATHETIC.  Only YOU can decide what good music is.  Really, if you think about it, there isn't such a thing as "good" or "bad" music.  What you like may be different to what someone else likes.  That music is good to you, but not to someone else.  And NEVER say a band sucks if you havn't even HEARD them.  Don't just automatically assume that because they are on MTV or VH1 or FUSE or because they are in Rolling Stone or Alternative Press or Spin or Blender that they suck. 

You know what I am listening to RIGHT NOW?  MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.  You know why?  Because they are my FAVORITE BAND.  And I am in NO WAY ashamed.  I am in NO WAY embarassed.  I'm going to listen to them, no matter what you say.

There have actually been a few times when someone tells me they hate a band, and then later I say something like  "Hey, listen to this cool song!" and they agree not knowing who the artist is.  Most of the time they say something along the lines of "Wow!  This is awesome!  Who is this?" and then get VERY embarassed when I tell them because they've said they hated that band about 3495hundredg932million5s00j2trillionf3rj2cp4zillion times.

And if you happen to like (or even love) a band that your friends think is "uncool" because of the reasons listed above, YOU SHOULDN'T BE ASHAMED.  You're most likely trying to be all "non-conformist" and what not anyway, right?  Well let me tell you this: when you pretend to not like a band because your friends don't like them, you're conforming.  So wear that Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars or even AFI shirt proudly, kid.  And when someone tells you "That band sucks." just look at them blankly and say "I know.  That's why I bought their shirt and their CD.  And that's also why they have so many fans."

How many times do I have to blog my little heart out before people get the message?

Shut up.  Maybe YOU suck.

So before you go tell that little eleven year old wearing the Green Day shirt that they're a poser, think about this blog.  Maybe it'll change your little brainwashed mind.
